A couple of years ago my son stopped sailing and instead took up tennis. I have continued sailing at WSC, usually crewing on an irregular basis with a friend who has a Pacer dinghy. I also joined Hobson's Bay Yacht Club and bought a Bluebird, a 22 foot sloop which I race in a fleet of about a dozen boats.
I joined Williamstown Sailing Club about 7 years ago. My father used to sail there in the late 1930's on a type of dinghy known as a Williamstown Punt. Sadly none have survied to the present day. When I joined WSC in 2000 I sailed with my oldest child in a Mirror dinghy. Not a very fast boat but a great and seaworthy design that is ideal for young people to learn on. I sailed a Mirror as a teenager.
